Our 214th Leo’s Kid, Prajal Khatri, was a sweet 5-year-old boy from Basgadi-4, Bardiya, who became part of the Leonardo Edward Shrestha Foundation family. He received treatment for Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma at Bharatpur Cancer Hospital.
Prajal was the son of Padam Bahadur Khatri, a farmer, and Laxmi Oli. Before his diagnosis, Prajal loved watching cartoon shows and rhymes. His journey began when his parents noticed a swelling in his belly. After visiting hospitals in Kohalpur and Dasbigha, he was referred to Kanti Children’s Hospital in Kathmandu for further investigation. He eventually traveled to Lucknow, India, where he was diagnosed with cancer.
During his treatment journey, Prajal stayed at our C-Flat in Bharatpur, Chitwan, among other accommodations. We were honored to support Prajal and his family throughout his time with us, providing essential housing, food, transportation, and other necessary assistance. Prajal eventually went home.
Despite the medical efforts, his courageous fight has come to an end. His strength and spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
