Celebrating Barun Gurung: Our 146th Leo’s Kid to survive cancer!
We’re overjoyed to share the heartwarming news that our 12-year-old Barun Gurung has successfully completed his active treatment for T-ALL (T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia) and is now entering the maintenance phase! Barun is the 146th Leo’s Kid to survive cancer!
After 356 days of dedicated care and unwavering strength, Barun is finally heading home. Barun received his treatment at Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital.
During these challenging 356 days, Barun and his family stayed at Leo’s Kid Arlene Miskelly Memorial flat, which became their home away from home.
His parents, Devi Bahadur Gurung (who works in teaching) and Lalita Gurung, have been a pillar of strength, providing immense love and courage throughout Barun’s journey. Their dedication, along with Barun’s incredible resilience, has brought them to this significant milestone.
We are incredibly proud of Barun and his family and wish him all the best on his continued path to full recovery!
To help us continue supporting more brave children like Barun in their fight against cancer, please consider making a donation. Every contribution brings hope and healing to a child in need.
